Square-Enix: Dragon Quest Heroes I & II, I am Setsuna, Project Octopath Traveler for the Switch

Dragon Quest Heroes I & II

During the Nintendo Switch Presentation, Square-Enix announced several games for the Nintendo Switch, and the first one is Dragon Quest Heroes I & II. As the title implies, it’s a compilation with both Dragon Quest Heroes games, which are basically Warriors-style games (though with more RPG elements).

This Nintendo Switch version will feature a brand new character: Ragnar McRyan (voiced by Tomokazu Sugita). All DLC from both games and all versions will be included from the get-go, along with some new content (such as new bosses, for example), various balance fixes, and more.

The game will also be playable in multiplayer, with up to 4 players (online and local, though only for Dragon Quest Heroes II).

Dragon Quest Heroes I & II (Switch) will be released on March 3rd in Japan, and later this year in Europe and North America.

I Am Setsuna

Developed by Tokyo RPG Factory, I Am Setsuna is an old-school JRPG originally released on the PlayStation Vita. Unfortunately, we don’t know if there will be any additional content or exclusive features. All we know is that there will be a Colosseum (to be added at a later date via DLC), where you will be able to take on the team created by other players.

Here’s a synopsis:

The island had a custom.

To maintain peace, once a decade, a sacrifice was offered to a fiend on the island. However, one year, the fiend grew violent before the next sacrifice was due. Those living on the island were afraid and tried to calm the fiend by offering a sacrifice; Setsuna, chosen because of her powers of enchantment. Setsuna must leave with her safeguards for the farthest land, where the ceremony of sacrifice will be held.

Project Octopath Traveler

Unlike I am Setsuna, Project Octopath is a brand new JRPG, though still with a strong retro flavour. There’s very little we know about the game, other than it seems to be the next project from Tomoya Asano and the Bravely series.

Project Octopath Traveler will be released on Nintendo Switch, worldwide.

Minna de Waiwai! Spelunker

Minna de Waiwai! Spelunker on Nintendo Switch is based on Minna de Spelunker Z. Very little is know about the game so far, other than it will be released at retail and on the Nintendo eShop in Spring in Japan. It will be playable with 1 to 4 players, with local and online multiplayer.
