Squid Girl X Splatoon collaboration
Last week, Famitsu and Weekly Shonen Champion announced a special Squid Girl X Splatoon collaboration. In the next issue of both magazines (coming out on May 28th), there will be special illustrations by Masahiro Anbe (author of the Ika Musume / Squid Girl manga).
The magazines aren’t out yet, but we already have a first pic of the Famitsu’s illustration:

Squid Research Lab
Today, the Squid Research Lab posted several tweets on the official Twitter account for Splatoon. The first one was about the Splatoon cushions announced a few days ago, and coming out in July in Japan.
Next, they talked a bit about the Ranked Battles: some advanced online modes, where battles are much fiercer than in the regular Turf Wars. However, they won’t be available at launch, and won’t be unlocked until enough players have reached Rank 10 worldwide.
The researcher is aware that players will want to go take part in those Ranked Battles as soon as possible, but ask them to be patient. Obviously, there will be an announcement when enough players have reached Rank 10, which shouldn’t take too long if players learn quickly.
Finally, there’s the usual countdown… only 2 days left for Japan (3 for Europe and North America)!
Splatoon (Wii U) comes out on May 28th in Japan, and May 29th in Europe and North America.
