Splatoon: small teaser, artworks, content in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, music sample

Earlier today, the Squid Research Lab posted a rather intriguing picture on Twitter. Here it is:

Now, you’re probably thinking “Well, what about it? That artwork is as old as Captain Cuttlefish!”… and you’re wrong! While it does seem similar, there’s a significant difference… the Octoling isn’t wearing any goggles The question is: why? Why is that Octoling not wearing any goggles, and why did the Squid Research Lab post that pic? Is that a clue for the major Software update slated for next month?

They also posted two artworks yesterday, about the upcoming Japanese Splatfest this week-end:

Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Today, Nintendo released some QR codes in order to get Splatoon content in Animal Crossing: New Leaf in Japan. By scanning the QR Codes which you can get special patterns (to use in order to design things, such as Splatoon t-shirts for example), and tiles for making Splatoon-themed walls and floors.
