Splatoon: results of Famitsu’s Squid Fashion contest

Last month, Famitsu announced a special contest in the May 20th issue of the magazine (and on their official website): fans were invited to design a costume for Splatoon, and the winner would get to see his/her creation added to Splatoon via the big August update (which will also include an Ika Musume / Squid Girl costume).

And it looks like the contest was more popular than Famitsu expected, with over 800 entries in total. Therefore, they had to create some additional prizes, though only the #1 winner will get their costume added to Splatoon.

Without further ado, here’s the overall winner of the contest (who will also get a signed poster):

Here’s the Splatoon development staff’s picks (they win a poster signed by the developers):

What’s more, there is additional fanart in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine:

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Nintendo is planning a similar contest in Europe and/or North America, and we also don’t know if the costume will also be added to the western version of Splatoon.
