Splatoon: details about the Splatoon Koshien 2017 to be revealed tomorrow

Update: today, the Squid Research Lab revealed the key visual for the Splatoon Koshien 2017!

Back in April, Nintendo confirmed that there would be a 2017 edition of the Splatoon Koshien (a nation-wide tournament for Splatoon, in Japan). Unfortunately, we still don’t know anything about it, but at least, we don’t have much longer to wait before finding out more about this new tournament.

Today, it was announced that details about the Splatoon Koshien 2017 would be revealed next week, during a livestream on NicoNico. We can expect the following to be revealed during the livestream: date and location for the qualification tournament and the grand finale, rules for each tournament, and more.

The following people will be there:

  • Bouto
  • Miyokawa (from Famitsu magazine)
  • Squid Research Lab researcher

The livestream will take place on August 6th, at:

  • Europe: 1PM
  • UK: 12PM
  • North America (EST): 6AM
  • North America (PST): 3AM
  • Japan: 8PM

Last year, the Splatoon Koshien was extremely popular, and there’s no doubt the 2017 will be as popular (if not more). This time around, Nintendo is announcing the details about the event via a livestream, and not just a press release, which shows how seriously Nintendo is taking its new franchise and its resounding success in Japan.

We can expect the Splatoon Koshien 2017 to be even bigger than its predecessor (with more dates, for example)! With no more Splatfests and content to keep players interested, the various tournaments for the Splatoon Koshien 2017 are bound to keep players interested in the game.
