Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice – More gameplay footage, retailer bonuses

Last week, during the Sonic 25th Anniversary Party, SEGA announced not one, but two new Sonic games. Unfortunately, there’s a catch… two, actually! First, only one is coming to a Nintendo platform (and more precisely the NX): Sonic Project 2017. Second, both games will not be released before 2017 (late 2017 for Sonic Project 2017).

But Sonic fans know there is a Sonic game releasing this year… Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice on Nintendo 3DS! The game was showcased on Tuesday during the latest episode of SEGA Nama. Harumasa Nakajima (Director) came to showcase several of the levels of the game, which prominently features the ice and fire mechanics (they are mentioned in the very subtitle, after all).

If you missed the livestream, no problem: we’ve recorded all the relevant bits and put them into a single video. Here it is:

Also, SEGA revealed more retailers bonuses:

  • Amazon.co.jp: smartphone + PC wallpaper
  • Joshin Denki + Joshin Web: smartphone wallpaper

Finally, here’s the contents of the Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice – 25th Anniversary Set (only available at the SEGA Store):

  • Acryllic Sonic figures
  • Two Sonic the Hedgehogh 25th Anniversary mug cups
  • a Sonic the Hedgehog 25th Anniversary 3D crystal

Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice (3DS) comes out on September 27th in North America, September 30th in Europe, and October 27th in Japan.
