Shantae: Half-Genie Hero – Pirate Queen’s Quest DLC out on August 29th

Update: yesterday, WayForward announced that the Pirate Queen’s Quest DLC for Shantae: Half-Genie Hero would be released on August 29th. More details will most likely be shared pretty soon!

Last week, WayForward posted the latest Kickstarter update for Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, in order to talk about the upcoming Pirate Queen’s Quest DLC. And there’s some good news: the DLC is complete, and has been submitted to the various platform holders for lotcheck. That means we should have a release date pretty soon! In fact, an update was released a few days ago, adding support for that DLC.

Don’t forget: if you backed Shantae: Half-Genie Hero on Kickstarter, you will get the DLC for free, and possibly even a few days early! If you didn’t, you will have to pay for for it, and you will not be able to get it early no matter what.

Also, the Tinkerbat Dance DLC is ready, and in fact, WayForward has started sending download codes to qualifying backers ($55 tier and above). This update is to remain an exclusive for backers, though WayForward isn’t excluding releasing it for all players after a lengthy exclusivity period.

But that’s not all: the Blue Shantae, Classic Risky, and Drifter Blade DLC are complete, and more details about them are coming pretty soon.

With all this DLC behind them, the development team is hard at work on the Friends Mode DLC. In case you forgot, it’s going to add a new storyline, new levels, and even a special boss. As of writing, development is about halfway complete. More details coming soon!
