Puzzle & Dragons X: screenshots for the multiplayer

Puzzle & Dragons XThe World Hobby Fair ’16 Summer is taking place this week-end in Japan, and Puzzle & Dragons X is one of the games that will be playable there. But before the event actually starts, GungHo revealed some new screenshots for the game this morning: they focus on the multiplayer components, including VS Mode and Co-op.

For VS Mode, you go to the Dragon Colosseum in order to battle against other players via local wireless (no online play). You then have the choice between two modes:

  • Free battle: you can battle with monsters you raised yourself;
  • Fixed battle: you can battle with a pre-defined team of monsters. It’s great for players who want to battle with high-level monsters, but have just begun playing the game. It also helps even the playing field if the two players are not at the same point in the game.

You can find more details and some footage for VS Mode in this post!

Next, we have co-op, which allows two players to explore and battle together (again, only via local wireless). During battle, you can help your teammate using skills. At the end, both players get the same rewards, so there’s really no need for the two to compete over anything.

Here’s the latest screenshots for Puzzle & Dragons X, along with pictures of the goodies visitors of the World Hobby Fair ’16 Summer will be able to get at GungHo’s booth:

Puzzle & Dragons X (3DS) comes out on July 28th in Japan.
