Pokémon Crystal (Virtual Console)

Heads up for players with a Japanese Nintendo 3DS: Pokémon Crystal (on Virtual Console) is now available for pre-purchase on the Nintendo eShop. Pre-purchasing the game allows you to start downloading it right away, and play it at 12AM JST on January 26th. To do so, you will need at least 150 blocks (or 16MB) of free space on your SD Card. Pre-purchase for Europe and North America should go live soon, most likely this week.

Pokémon Crystal (3DS Virtual Console) comes out on January 26th, worldwide.

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon

Heads up for players who bought Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, and are yet to get the special Rockruff: you have until January 10th (Wednesday) to get it. There’s no other way to get it during normal gameplay, at least, on your own (you can always trade one with a friend), so make sure you get it before it’s too late.

You can find more details about the various Pokémon distributions for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon on this page!

Pokémon GO

Trying to get Zangoose or Seviper in Pokémon GO? Up until now, the former would only appear in the Americas and Africa, and the latter in Europe, Asia, and Oceania. But it seems their location has been swapped, and it’s unclear how long this will last, so make sure to get out and try the Pokémon you’re missin asap!

Next week, the latest Official Group Match will go live in Pokkén Tournament DX. It’s called the Dynamic Fury, and it takes places from January 19th to January 22nd. It’s a Team Battle competition, on a Fixed Battle Arena. As usual, you get a special title as a reward simply for participating (it’s based on Machamp), but you can get others if you get a high enough rank.
