PokéNews (Dec. 13) – Pokémon Sun and Moon: new Global Mission / Pokémon Shuffle

Today’s Pokémon news: a new Global Mission for Pokémon Sun and Moon, but also…

  • Pokémon Shuffle
  • Pokémon Championships
  • Pokémon Comaster

Pokémon Global Mission

Today, the very first Global Mission for Pokémon Sun and Moon ended. It had players try and catch as many Pokémon as possible, with a rather lofty goal: catch at least 100 million Pokémon. Unfortunately, players didn’t get anywhere close that amount, as the final total of Pokémon caught reached 16 423 231.

As a result, all players get at least 100 Festival Points as a consolation prize, and 200 Festival Prize if you registered your Pokémon Sun and Moon Game Sync ID at the Pokémon Global Link. The good news is that, for future Global Missions, the developers are going to take into account the results of that one when setting a target.

Speaking of Global Missions, the second one has been announced. Players have until December 27th to try and find as many Pokémon as possible using Island Scan. Unfortunately, it’s not clear when exactly that mission will go live (it hasn’t, as of writing).

Pokémon Championships

Yesterday, The Pokémon Company announced that the Regional Championships in San José, taking place this week-end, would be livestreamed (just like all recent Pokémon Championships). The livestream schedule will be announced at a later date, though we already know there will be two separate livestreams (Video Game and TCG).
