One Piece: Dai Kaizoku Colosseum announced for the Nintendo 3DS

It looks like the latest issue of V-Jump magazine, to be released tomorrow in Japan, has quite a few goodies for Nintendo 3DS owners who also happen to be fans of shounen manga. Besides the release date for Dragon Ball Fusions, the magazine will also reveal a brand new One Piece game for the Nintendo 3DS.

The game is called One Piece: Dai Kaizoku Colosseum (lit. One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum), and seems to be a 2D action game. It seems it will have a Story Mode, where the players can sail around the world in order to become the Pirate King. According to the magazine, the game features a bounty system: as you defeat rivals, your own bounty increases. V-Jump also mentions a mode which lets you create your very own team of pirates.

As far as gameplay is concerned, One Piece: Dai Kaizoku Colosseum will apparently be easy to play. As in any 2D action/fighting game worth its salt, there will be a combo system. To pull one, it seems that you have to press the attack button at a steady tempo (though it may simply be a strange wording from the magazine). Pulling out combos seems to be the key to winning battles.

Here’s one lone scan from V-Jump magazine:
