Power Consumption

With new consoles, we always get plenty of details about specs. But when talking about specs, it’s most likely about the pure graphical powers of the console, not really power consumption. And yet, power consumption is a pretty important aspect of any console, especially for those who pay attention to their electricity bill!

If you’re interested, Anandtech has a published a pretty lengthy and in-depth report about the power consumption of the Nintendo Switch. Naturally, they took a look at power consumption when docked/undocked, but also when the Joy-Cons are connected and/or charging, and a lot more. As we just said, it’s a pretty in-depth report, which might be getting a tad too technical for some people.C

Loading times

Last week, the official Twitter account for SanDisk in Japan posted a video comparison of the loading times for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. To be more precise, it compares the following:

  • Game cart (top left)
  • SanDisk Extreme microSD (top right)
  • SanDisk Extreme Pro microSD (bottom left)
  • Internal memory (bottom right)

Nintendo Game Front

Located at the Panasonic Center Tokyo, the Nintendo Game Front is a special place where visitors can try out various Nintendo games and consoles. It was closed last month, but it was only temporary: it’s now open again, and the Nintendo Switch + select games can now be played there:

  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
  • Snipperclips: Cut it out, together!

And as usual, various Nintendo 3DS games can be played.

Here’s some pictures:

The Nintendo Game Front is open every day except Monday (with the exception of March 20th and March 27th), and New Year’s day, from 10AM to 6PM.

Has-Been Heroes

Today, the official gamepage for Has-Been Heroes on Nintendo of Europe’s website was updated, and now indicates that the game will be released on March 28th in Europe (same day as in North America). Quite surprisingly, this is a Tuesday, which is not the usual release day for publishers in Europe (that’s either Thursday or Friday). The gamepage also confirms that the game will get a retail release in Europe, too.

Has-Been Heroes (Switch) comes out on March 28th in Europe and North America. The Upcoming Releases page has been updated!
