Nintendo Switch: another bundle for Russia (Mario Kart 8 Deluxe + ARMS)
Ahead of the launch of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, many people expected Nintendo to release a bundle including the Nintendo Switch and the game. But in the end, the company had no such bundle… except in Russia, where it was available in Grey and Neon Red / Blue variants. And it looks like this was but the first Russia-exclusive bundle, as another one was stealth-released recently.
That second bundle is pretty much the same as the first one, but with one major difference: it now includes a copy of ARMS! And once again, the games inside are on cartridge (no Download Codes like the vast majority of Hardware bundles in Europe and North America since the previous generation).
Here’s the contents of the bundle:
- Nintendo Switch console
- Right and Left Joy-Cons
- Strap for the Joy-Cons
- Grip
- Dock
- HDMI cable
- AC Adapter
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (physical)
- ARMS (physical)
But what’s really interesting about this bundle isn’t just that it includes two great multiplayer games made by the same core team at Nintendo, but also that it’s actually cheaper than buying everything separately (which wasn’t the case of the other bundles in Europe, North America and Japan).
This bundle costs ₽26990, while buying everything separately would cost you ₽29897: that’s ₽2907 you can spend on something else… like some extra games from the Nintendo eShop, for example!
Once again, it’s unlikely that bundle will ever be released outside Russia, especially with the “discount”. However, it’s definitely possible a similar bundle will reach Europe, North America or Japan later down the line (for the holiday period, for example).
It’s certainly going to be interesting to see if Nintendo keep on releasing exclusive bundles in Russia, and if they start doing the same in other regions where the company is trying to expand (Asia or Korea for example).
