Nintendo: price-drop for the Nintendo 2DS in North America ($99.99)

Back in 2013, Nintendo launched a truly unexpected model for the Nintendo 3DS, called the Nintendo 2DS. Not only the design is completely different (no more clamshell, which has been a standard ever since the GameBoy Advance SP!), but the top screen doesn’t even display stereoscopic 3D (hence the name: 2DS).

At launch, the Nintendo 2DS cost $129.99, making it significantly more affordable than the other models. But starting August 30th, the Nintendo 2DS will become even more affordable: the MSRP will drop to $99.99! What’s more, the handheld will still come with Mario Kart 7 pre-installed, allowing fans to save even more money.

Nintendo 2DSIn the PR, Nintendo doesn’t forget to mention the line-up of upcoming Nintendo games for the Nintendo 3DS (and 2DS, obviously): Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash, Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon, The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes and Yo-kai Watch.
