Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS sales

Over the past few days, Nintendo share some interesting tidbits about Nintendo Switch sales.

Let’s start with South Korea, where the console was launched on December 1st. Nintendo reports that the console sold 55 000 units during the first 3 days, making it the best launch for a Nintendo console in the country. It’s also the best month for any Nintendo console in Korea. It looks like the Nintendo Switch’s adventures in South Korea are off to a great start!

In an interview with Variety, Reggie Fils-Aimé also shared some interesting data about some Nintendo Switch games in the United States, and more precisely their tie-in ratio:

  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Over 50%
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Over 50%
  • Super Mario Odyssey – Over 50%
  • Splatoon 2 – Over 25%

Finally, in an interview with Forbes, Reggie Fils-Aimé revealed that in the United States, the Nintendo 3DS was on track to sell more than last year, which is quite the feat for the handheld now going through its 7th holiday season. Unfortunately, no actual data is provided (including Software)…
