Nintendo details plans for PAX West 2016, second Nindies@Night announced

PAX West 2016 – Nindies

Last year, Nintendo held an event called Nindies@Night during PAX West, where several upcoming indie games on Nintendo platforms were showcased. Since it was pretty successful, Nintendo has decided to host another one this year, once again with the EMP Museum in Seattle. Good news: it’s still completely free!

This year, the Nindies@Night event will take place on September 1st, from 8PM to 12PM, at the EMP Museum (325 Fifth Ave. N in Seattle). Just like last time, attendees will able to try out various indie games, but they will also have the opportunity to snag some giveaways and prizes (while supplies last). Finally, they will get access to the EMP’s Indie Game Revolution exhibit, and more.

Here’s the list of games that will be playable at the event:

Wii U

  • Axiom Verge (Thomas Happ Games)
  • Jotun: Valhalla Edition (Thunder Lotus Games)
  • Shantae Half-Genie Hero (WayForward/XSEED)
  • Severed (Drinkbox Studios)
  • World to the West (Rain Games)
  • FAST Racing NEO – NEO Future Pack (Shin’en)
  • SteamWorld Heist (Image & Form)

Nintendo 3DS

  • Runbow Pocket (13AM Games)
  • Punch Club (tiny Build Games)
  • Severed (Drinkbox Studios)
  • Azure Striker GUNVOLT 2 (INTI CREATES)
  • Noitu Love: Devolution (MP2 Games)
  • Gurumin: A Monsterous Adventure (Mastiff)

Those same games will also be playable at Nintendo’s Indie Lounge (in Room 612, on the 6th floor of the convention center). Developers will be there to demonstrate their games and answer questions, but also giveaway free swag (who doesn’t like that?). The Indie Lounge will be open from 12PM to 9PM (Friday/Sunday, and 12PM to 6PM (Monday).

PAX West 2016 – Nintendo’s booth

Besides the Nindies events, Nintendo will also have its regular booth at PAX West (South Hall, Booth No. 2335). Besides the playable games (see the list below), there will be several activities:

  • Pokémon Sun and Moon: there will be a photo booth, where players will be able to take pictures with the two legendaries, and trainers. Visitors will be able to pre-order the game from Nintendo’s booth, and will receive a collectable gift if they do so.
  • Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past: Square Enix will host a game-focused developer discussion at 1.30PM on September 4, at the Hydra Theater.

There will also be several things on display: amiibo figures, Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Mini, and more.

Here’s the list of playable games confirmed for the event (more will most likely be announced by next week):

  • Yo-kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits / Fleshy Bones
  • Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past
  • more…

And finally, here’s the full planning:

PAX West takes place from September 2nd to September 5th, in Seattle.
