MP: Federation Force delayed to Aug. 19 (NA) / 25 (JP) / Sept. 2 (EU), to improve balance

Metroid Prime: Federation ForceMetroid Prime: Federation Force was revealed back at E3 2015, where it received a rather tepid reception from players. Then, during the latest Nintendo Direct presentation, in March, Nintendo announced that it would be released in Late Spring in North America, June in Japan, and this Summer in Europe. But today, Nintendo announced that the game was delayed.

According to the Japanese announcement, Metroid Prime: Federation Force was delayed in order to improve “game balance”. Unfortunately, we don’t quite know what it entails exactly, as the European and North American announcement don’t even mention the reason for the delay in the first place.

The game will now come out on:

  • August 19th in North America
  • August 25th in Japan
  • September 2nd in Europe

Unfortunately, that’s all we know for now, as Nintendo didn’t give any additional details about the game. If you’re going to the PAX East this week-end (from August 22nd to August 24th), make sure to drop by Nintendo’s booth in order try out the game!

Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS) comes out on August 19th in North America, August 25th in Japan, and September 2nd in Europe.

Our Upcoming Releases page has been updated with this new date.
