Monster Hunter Stories releasing on September 8th in Europe

Monster Hunter Stories is a spin-off of the Monster Hunter series, aimed at a younger audience than the main entries. But it’s not just the target audience that’s different: the game itself also has little in common with the main series, gameplay-wise After all, it’s a turn-based RPG, where you fight alongside monsters, instead of hunting them!

It was released in October 2016 in Japan, and it’s coming to Europe and North America, officially this Fall. This was announced back in April, during the latest Nintendo Direct presentation, but we haven’t heard about the game since then…

But it turns out Monster Hunter Stories will be releasing quite earlier than anticipated… on September 8th, to be more precise. This date comes from the latest press release from Nintendo, detailing the various games coming later this year and early next year on Nintendo 3DS.

Quite interestingly, this press release is only available in Spanish (courtesy of Nintenderos), but naturally, the September 8th release date applies to the whole of Europe, not just Spain. As for North America, it’s more than likely than the release will be on the exact same date. Hopefully, Nintendo of America makes a proper announcement in the near future.

Monster Hunter Stories (3DS) will be released on September 8th in Europe, and this Fall in North America. As for Japan, it’s getting a major update later this Summer, adding some additional content (click here for more details). The Upcoming Releases page has been updated!
