Monster Hunter Stories: more details and pictures for Ver. 1.3, out on November 22nd in Japan

Back at the Tokyo Game Show, Capcom announced that Monster Hunter Stories was getting another major update this Winter in Japan. It will bring the game to Ver. 1.3, and will add some brand new content for players to enjoy.

First, the Mirage Tower (the special “dungeon” you can access after beating the main story, that consists of a 50 level tower) will get a new section, called the Tower of Remembrance. There, you will be able to battle powerful monsters that originally appeared in the main story and in subquests, but that are back in a much powerful variant.

There’s also the Twin Towers: a place where you can battle the 4 Black Riders, character that originally appeared in the second story arc of the Monster Hunter Stories anime series.

The 4 Black Riders are:

  • Mad (riding a special Khezu)
  • Shadow (riding a special Nargacuga)
  • Gale (riding a special Rathalos)
  • Lars

But that’s not all this DLC will bring. There’s also two special quests, that will help you tackle the two new towers:

  • Battle Item Exchange: allows you to get useful item that will help you tackle the new towers
  • Mysterious Egg: allows you to get your hands on an egg, from which a special Rathalos with strong genes will hatch.

The Ver. 1.3 update for Monster Hunter Stories will be released next week in Japan, on November 22nd to be precise. We don’t quite know if and when the update will be released in Europe and North America, especialyl as we’re still waiting for Ver. 1.1 (Ver. 1.2 in Japan)!

Here’s some pictures for Ver. 1.3:
