LEGO City Undercover getting a Nintendo Switch version next year

LEGO City Undercover was one of the first “proper” games revealed for the Wii U, and it was released in March 2013. It was the first truly open-world LEGO game, which explains some of the technical flaws (such as the extremely long loading times), but also one of the most beloved. It got a companion game on Nintendo 3DS, called LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins.

And today, Warner Bros. announced that LEGO City Undercover would be getting a Nintendo Switch port in Spring 2017. Unfortunately, the publisher doesn’t give any other detail, so we don’t know if anything was changed or added from the Wii U version (co-op, anyone?). It’s probably safe to expect better graphics, framerate, and of course loading times.

We also don’t know if LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins is also getting ported later down the line, or if it will remain on Nintendo 3DS. In the mean time, here’s one lone artwork:

This game has been added to our list of confirmed games for the Nintendo Switch, and our Upcoming Releases page!

LEGO City Undercover (Switch) comes out in Spring 2017. It will also be released on other platforms, but naturally, the Nintendo content will remain a Nintendo Switch exclusive!
