Kirby’s Blowout Blast releasing next week, trailer, details, footage, more

Today, Nintendo announced that Kirby’s Blowout Blast (initially revealed during the Nintendo Direct in April) would be released next week, on July 4th in Japan, and July 6th in North America and Europe. Today, the company opened the official website, providing us with details, footage, screenshots, and more!

Kirby’s Blowout Blast – Overview trailer

First, here’s the overview trailer for the game:

Kirby’s Blowout Blast – Official website

Next, here’s some gameplay footage from the official website:

Kirby’s Blowout Blast is an expanded version of the mini-game found in Kirby Planet Robobot. By inhaling enemies, Kirby gets bigger, and the more enemies he inhales at once, the bigger he gets. After that, you spit the enemies back as stars, which damages enemies and blocks on the way. Naturally, the more enemies you’ve inhaled, the stronger your attack ends up.And just like in the original, blocks can also be inhaled for attacks!

Your goal in this game isn’t just to reach the end of each level… it’s to do so while aiming for the highest score possible. To do that, you need to chain combos, by defeating as many enemies as possible in a single shot. That’s why inhaling lots of them at once is better: your “projectile” ends up much bigger, making it easier to hit several enemies at once. You also need to pay attention to your timing.

The official website reveals that the game features no less than 5 different worlds (with 5 levels each), which is… 5 times more than in the mini-game in Kirby: Planet Robobot (which only had 3 levels). Of course, there’s also some bosses for you to tackle, including a rather intimidating King Dedede…

Finally, players with save data for Kirby: Planet Robobot will get an exclusive statue of Kirby + Robobot Armour and Susie!

Kirby’s Blowout Blast – amiibo

The game happens to be compatible, and more precisely those of the Kirby series. If you tap a compatible amiibo, you can display a statue of that character in-game, and even change the music.

Kirby’s Blowout Blast – Pre-loading, details, screens

The game comes out on July 4th in Japan, and it can already be pre-purchased and pre-loaded from the Nintendo eShop or Nintendo’s website. You will need 810 Yen (that’s the price with taxes) and 748 blocks / 93.5MB of free space to do so.

Here’s some “technical” details about the game:

  • Genre: 3D Action
  • Players: 1
  • Save data files: 1
  • Save data file size: 128KB
  • Compatible with the Slide Pad

Kirby’s Blowout Blast – Lawson collab., screens
