Hyrule Warriors LegendsDLC planning + Pricing

Earlier today, Nintendo revealed the release planning and pricing for the Hyrule Warriors Legends (and Hyrule Warriors) DLC in Europe. And now, the official website has been updated, and provides us with the release planning and pricing for Japan. Koei-Tecmo actually indicates the release month for each pack: this only applies to Japan, but we can assume Europe and North America will get everything at the same time.

May 2016 – Master Wind Waker Pack (DLC Pack 1) [Nintendo 3DS: 370 Yen + taxes]

  • 16 new My Fairy costume pieces
  • The “Master” Wind Waker map for Adventure Mode, with one new adventure battle scenario

July 2016 – Link’s Awakening Pack (DLC Pack 2) [3DS: 926 Yen + taxes / 3DS + Wii U: 1 111 Yen + taxes]

  • 16 new My Fairy costume pieces (only on Nintendo 3DS)

  • A new map for Adventure Mode, with one new adventure battle and two new challenge battle scenarios (only on Nintendo 3DS)

As for the Season Pass (available from March 25th), its pricing is as follows:

  • Nintendo 3DS Only Season Pass: 2 315 Yen + taxes
  • Nintendo 3DS + Wii U Season Pass: 2 778 Yen + taxes

NB: just like in Japan, purchasing the Season Pass allows you to get the special costume for Ganondorf, based on The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Also, to buy and download the DLC, you first need to update the game to Ver. 1.2.0.

On Wii U, the planning and pricing is as follows:

July 2016: The Legends Character Pack (1 852 Yen + taxes, not part of the Season Pass):

  • Linkle
  • Skull Kid
  • Tetra
  • Toon Link
  • King Daphnes
  • Ganondorf’s trident weapon

Hyrule Warriors LegendsJuly 2016: Link’s Awakening Pack (DLC Pack 2) [741 Yen + taxes]

  • A new playable character
  • A new weapon for Linkle

NB: if you haven’t purchased the Legend Character Pack (with the new characters from Hyrule Warriors Legends), you will get Linkle as a character, but she will only be able to use that new weapon.

September 2016: Phantom Hourglass & Spirit Tracks Pack (DLC Pack 3) [741 Yen + taxes]

  • A new playable character
  • A new weapon for Toon Link

NB: if you haven’t purchased the Legend Character Pack (with the new characters from Hyrule Warriors Legends), you will get Toon Link as a character, but he will only be able to use that new weapon.

November 2016: A Link Between Worlds Pack (DLC Pack 4) [741 Yen + taxes]

  • Two new playable characters

Hyrule Warriors will also get a Season Pass in July, with the three DLC packs mentioned just above. It will cost 1 389 Yen + taxes, and require at least 1GB of free space on your Wii U or external HD.

Wii U update

In May, Hyrule Warriors will get an update in Japan (and most likely in Europe and North America) too. It will bring the game to Ver. 1.9.0, which does not include any notable change. But this update has a good purpose: it adds Medli as playable character, for free. She fights using a harp, a weapon which has a pretty wide range. She will also be available for Hyrule Warriors Legends on the same day.

To dowload this update, you will have two options:

  • let the Wii U do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated. The next time you launch the game game, you should have the latest version installed;
  • if not, you can launch Hyrule Warriors from the Home Menu (not the Quick Start Menu), in order to manually trigger the download and install of the update.

Hyrule Warriors Legends (3DS) comes out on March 24th in Europe, and March 25th in North America.
