Indie news (May 22): Shakedown Hawaii / Mutant Mudds artbook

Today’s Indie news: Arcade Challenge Teaser for Shakedown Hawaii, but also…

  • Mutant Mudds
  • Chromophore!
  • SteamWorld Dig 2
  • Battle Sports Mekuru
  • Yoku’s Island Express
  • NBA Playgrounds

Shakedown Hawaii

Last week, VBlank Entertainment shared a new video for Shakedown Hawaii, showcasing one of the Arcade Challenges. This one is called “Pedestrian Target Practice”!

Shakedown Hawaii (Switch – eShop) will be released later this year in Europe and North America.

Mutant Mudds

Last week, Jools Watsham revealed that he was working on a really neat side project: the Mutant Mudds: Official Art and Design Works, that will be released at retail.

Here’s a sneak peek:

Chromophore!

Remember the port of Two Brothers / Chromophore!, announced by ACKK a looong time ago? Well, it turns out it’s pretty much alive, and not cancelled. But the thing is, the team is currently focusing on YIIK (which was recently announced/confirmed for the Nintendo Switch), and we will only get to hear about it again once that game has been released.

Naturally, it’s unlikely that the Wii U release is in the works, but since YIIK is headed to the Nintendo Switch, it’s quite likely that Two Brothers / Chromophore! also is.

Thanks D-e-f- for the heads up!

SteamWorld Dig 2

We already knew that SteamWorld Dig 2 was headed to Japan, but today, Image & Form clarified that it would be sometime this Fall. Naturally, the exact release date will be announced at a later date, most definitely after we have the one for Europe and North America!

Battle Sports Mekuru

Battle Sports Mekuru (originally announced as Project Mekuru) was released last week in Japan, but still doesn’t have a release date in Europe and North America. And yet, we already know that the game will get some post-launch DLC: new maps and areas.

This was revealed in an interview with the developers, to be published soon on Source Gaming.

Yoku’s Island Express

Here’s a couple of screenshots and a short GIF for Yoku’s Island Express, releasing next year on the Nintendo Switch:
