Rime

Following IGN’s re-reveal of the game, which was confirmed for the Nintendo Switch in the process, the official website for Rime was opened. It provides us with some additional details, but also some screenshots and concept-art.

Let’s start with the details:

A land of discovery stretches out before you. Explore the beautiful, yet rugged, world of RiME, a single-player puzzle adventure game releasing in May 2017.

In RiME, you play as a young boy who has awakened on a mysterious island after a shipwreck. You see wild animals, long-forgotten ruins and a massive tower that beckons you to come closer.

Armed with your wits and a will to overcome—and the guidance of a helpful fox—you must explore the enigmatic island and unlock its closely guarded secrets.

  • Explore: Rime lets you explore the island at your own pace. You can interact with the animals/creatures living there, but also search for hidden items, or simply take in the view;
  • Puzzles: the game features various puzzles, involving sound, light, perspective, platforming, and even time manipulation;
  • Secrets: by finding various secrets and collectibles, you can learn more about the protagonist’s story;
  • Music composed by David Garcia Diaz
