Hamster bringing its Arcade Archives series to the Nintendo Switch

Hamster is a Japanese company focusing on retro games, and more specifically Arcade titles. Yesterday, the company announced they were bringing their Arcade Archives series to the Nintendo Switch. And to begin, they’re bringing 5 NeoGeo titles, as part of their ACA Neo Geo sub-series.

Here’s the 5 titles that will be released in March (at least, in Japan):

  • The King of Fighters 98 (SNK)
  • WakuWaku 7 (Sunsoft)
  • Shock Troopers (SNK)
  • World Heroes Perfect (SNK)
  • Metal Slug 3 (SNK)

Here’s some screenshots for those games:

One important thing to note about those Arcade Archives titles is that they are not Virtual Console titles. They’re full-fledged digital releases, usually with additional features such as online learderboards, screenshots/video recording, and more.

The titles mentioned above will be released in March in Japan, and will cost 823 Yen (including taxes). After that initial line-up, more titles will be released, though they will obviously be announced at a later date.

Unfortunately, it’s not clear when those titles will be released in Europe and North America, though at the very least, we do know they will come out in those two regions.

The Upcoming Releases page has been updated!
