Fire Emblem news (Jan. 13): Fire Emblem Warriors announced (Switch), Nintendo Direct next week

During the Nintendo Switch Presentation, Nintendo revealed Fire Emblem Warriors. As the name implies, this is a Fire Emblem spin on the classic “Warriors” franchise, something that fans of the Fire Emblem series have been dreaming/craving for. Unfortunately, we know absolutely nothing about it, other than it’s developed by Koei-Tecmo / Omega Force / Team Ninja.

All we have is this teaser trailer:

But that’s not the only Fire Emblem-related announcement Nintendo made today. It was also announced that a special Nintendo Direct presentation entirely dedicated to the Fire Emblem series would be livestreamed next week, on January 18th, at the following time:

  • Europe: 11PM
  • UK: 10PM
  • North America (ET): 5PM
  • North America (PT): 2PM
  • Japan: 7AM (January 19th)

It’s not clear what this Fire Emblem Direct will be about, but it’s possible we will get more details about Fire Emblem Warriors. However, it’s more likely we will finally get to see the mysterious Fire Emblem game for smart devices (which is supposed to launch before April). Maybe we will also hear about the third wave of DLC for Fire Emblem Fates, which is yet to be released in Europe and North America.

However, it’s not clear whether this is a global presentation or not.

Fire Emblem Warriors (Switch) will be released worldwide, though unfortunately, no release window has been provided by Nintendo…
