Fire Emblem Fates: over 300 000 units sold in the United States

Fire Emblem FatesFire Emblem Fates: Birthright / Conquest came out last week in North America (on February 19th, to be precise), and it’s off to a great start. Today, Nintendo sent a press release to announce that both versions of the game (Birthright / Conquest) have sold over 300 000 units in the United States alone, in just three days.

Nintendo doesn’t specify it, but it’s pretty much guaranteed that number also includes digital copies of the game. That being said, it’s not clear if Nintendo does count players who bought the second version via the Nintendo eShop or not.

With 300 000 units sold in three days, Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright / Conquest becomes the fastest-selling Fire Emblem game in the United States. As a comparison, it sold 5 time as many units as Fire Emblem Awakening during the same timeframe (back in 2013). Also, in just three days, Fire Emblem Fates did better than its predecessor during its launch month (180 000 units).

Nintendo also reveals that “Birthright” was the most popular version, even though the “Conquest” version isn’t too far behind. Unfortunately, we don’t get concrete numbers for each!

With over 400 000 units sold in Japan, and over 300 000 units sold in the United States alone, it looks like Fire Emblem Fates is going to reach 1 million units sold even before its European launch.

Fire Emblem Fates (3DS) comes out later this year in Europe.
