Famitsu previews (July 26): Etrian Odyssey V

This week, the following games will be showcased in Famitsu magazine:

  • Etrian Odyssey V
  • Puzzle & Dragons X
  • Splatoon

Etrian Odyssey V

Etrian Odyssey V comes out next week in Japan (on August 4th), and naturally, it will be showcased in the latest issue of Famitsu this week. The magazine will have a recap of previously revealed information, and more.

There will also be a special illustration of the Gunner class by Yuji Himukai (chara-designer of the series), which will then be distributed as DLC (to unlock as a customisation option when creating your character). Finally, the magazine will have a special illustration by Shigatake (Dragon’s Crown, Odin Sphere).

Puzzle & Dragons X

Puzzle & Dragons X comes out this Thursday in Japan, and it will be featured in Famitsu magazine this week with a 10-page article. This article will have tips for the beginning of the game, an interview of the Director and the Executive Producer, an interview of the voice actors (from the anime series), and more. There will also be a download code for 5 Metal Dragons and 5 Gold Dragons!

Splatoon

In Japan, shooters aren’t really the most popular of games. But in the past couple of years, things seem to have changed. For example, you have Splatoon, which has sold over 1.3 million units at retail alone, and on Wii U to boot.  In an article, Famitsu take a look at what has changed, using various bits of data, questionnaires, etc.. There will also be interview of the developers.
