Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2 announced, out on August 31st on Nintendo 3DS (Japan); trailer and footage
During today’s livestream on NicoNico, Atlus shared the first trailer and showed gameplay footage for Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology. But said livestream wasn’t only about that game, as the company also revealed a brand new game: Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2. It looks like the first one was successful enough to warrant a “sequel” (once again developed by Spike-Chunsoft).
For those who don’t know, Etrian Mystery Dungeon is a game that merges elements from the Etrian Odyssey series (such as F.O.E, character creation, etc.) and the gameplay of the Mystery Dungeon. Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2 seems to offer the same experience as the original, though obviously, Atlus will share more details in the upcoming weeks and months.

But there’s more! This year, the Etrian Odyssey celebrates its 10th Anniversary (the first entry was released on January 18th, 2007, on Nintendo DS), and Atlus has prepared some things to celebrate.
First, there’s music popularity contest, that runs from March 26th to April 9th. Fans can vote for their favorite tracks from the Etrian Odyssey series, and more precisely the following titles:
- Etrian Odyssey
- Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard
- Etrian Odyssey III: The Drowned City
- Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan
- Etrian Odyssey V
- Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millenium Girl
- Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight
- Etrian Mystery Dungeon
The tracks with the most votes will end up on a compilation album, with 2 discs, and a cover draw by Yuji Himukai. There will be two editions: regular and first-print edition.
