Umi no Kakera

Yesterday, mediascape announced that the Shiosai Sirens circle has joined their Play, Doujin! label. Their first game is Umi no Kakera (Fragment of Marine), a “circle action game”. The levels are made of a series of spheres, that you have to navigate through in order to help the protagonist get his body back, after it was split in 6 colours.

The stages feature various gimmicks to spice things up, but also a large number of checkpoints allowing you to immediately retry should you make a mistake and die. As you progress, the game gets more and more challenging, and you sometime get equipment that completely change how you interact with the world. If you do well, then the game will speed up.

The game was designed to be pretty accessible, while offering a fair amount of challenge for experienced players (with a harder version of levels to unlock, but also a Time Attack mode).
