[E3 2016] The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – First Trailer

The Legend of Zelda Breath of the WildToday is the very first day of E3 2016, and during the Nintendo Treehouse Live livestream, Nintendo is going to showcase the latest entry in the Legend of Zelda series at great legnths. But before that, Nintendo revealed the very first trailer for the game, which will now be known as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Here’s the very first trailer for the game:

The trailer does show a lot of things, ranging from environements (canyons, plains, etc.) to gameplay mechanics (climbing, sneaking behind horses to jump and ride them, cutting down tree to cross), and more. We can see Link gliding down from a cliff, use fire arrows to set grass on fire, create locks using ice magic, and much more.

Link is seen fighting using a sword, but also a bow, and (more surprisingly) a lance, an axe, and more. He can also be seen wearing some sort of armour at one point, which seems to imply that the game will feature various pieces of equipments (besides the usual tunics Zelda fans know pretty well).

Overall, the trailer does show a lot of things from the game, but it really does feel like we’ve barely scrapped the surface. There’s plenty of enemies, bosses, and events seen in this trailer we don’t really know anything about: we will have to wait for the Nintendo Treehouse Live livestream before knowing more about all that!

Here’s an artwork, a picture of Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma on the Nintendo booth, and more:

Head after the break for the Japanese version of the trailer!

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Wii U / NX) will be released in 2017.
