Dragon Quest XI: simultaneous 2D/3D only available during the intro, can switch at any time
On Tuesday, Square-Enix finally revealed the 11th main entry in the Dragon Quest series, which is coming out to both the Nintendo 3DS and the PlayStation 4 (the game was also “announced” for NX, though not 100% confirmed at the time). The Nintendo 3DS version has a really surprising and neat feature: the game is displayed in both 2D and 3DS at the same time…
… but unfortunately, this feature will only be available at the very beginning of the game, during the intro sequence. After that, you will have to chose between 2D or 3D. Of course, you will still be able to switch from 2D to 3D at any time during the adventure, but you won’t be able to have both at the same time. Maybe having the two styles at once during the whole game was too difficult to implement?
