Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 Professional: new details and screens (Drone, Giant Monsters)

Today, Square-Enix shared some more details about Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 Professional, releasing in less than two months in Japan. This time, the company introduces one of the new features of the Reactor (the device the protagonist wears on his head, which allows him to analyse monsters, but also detect secret treasure chests, paths of light, and more), which is called the Drone.

As the name implies, it lets you use a drone, that you can control at distance. Thanks to that remotely controlled aircraft, you can explore areas in the field without going there yourself (useful if it’s in a hard to reach place, to find your way, or to discover the location of hidden treasure chests). It looks like you can even use it in order to surprise monsters, who sometime drop items when they flee.

But that’s not all: you can also send your Drone in holes that are way too small for you, with strange containers inside. It can be used to grab mysterious balls of light that float in the air, too.

Next, Square-Enix gives us more details about riding giant monsters in the field. Unlike regular monsters, those giant monsters are really powerful, and their ride attacks can defeat enemies without even triggering a battle. Naturally, this only works with small, weak monsters… don’t expect that to work on tough monsters!

Naturally, each monster has its own ride attack to be used, allowing you to perform specific actions. When you defeat enemies while riding a giant monster, your monster also get some XP, and can level up that way.

Finally, Square-Enix shares details about the ball of lights that can be found in the field. They basically function like a Super Star in Super Mario: if a monster touches it, it starts glowing, and it can defeat monsters with ride attacks (even if it’s weak). The best part? You can defeat as many as monsters as you want, as long as the effects of the ball of light are active.

Finally, here’s the latest batch of screenshots for Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 Professional:
