Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2: technical details for the Nintendo Switch version, release date (Japan)

Earlier this week, Bandai-Namco updated the official website for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 in Japan, providing us with some additional details about the Nintendo Switch version of the game. Besides the gameplay-related info we previously covered in this post, Bandai-Namco also gives us some technical details about the game itself.

First, the resolution: it’s 1600×900 when playing in TV Mode, and 1280×720 when playing in handheld mode. What’s more, Bandai-Namco specifies that this resolution can fluctuate depending on the situation (meaning it will sometimes drop below the aforementioned values when things are getting real busy on the screen).

As for the framerate, it will be 60fps in 1 vs 1 battles, but it will drop to 30fps at any other time… meaning the game will run at 30fps most of the time. Bandai-Namco also mentions some “changes” regarding “effects and objects”, compared to the PlayStation 4 version (but doesn’t give any details). Regarding the number of players, it will be 6 when playing online and locally. Unfortunately, there will not be any voice chat online.

Finally, some bad news for players who were expecting the Nintendo Switch version to be a GOTY-like edition with all DLC included: you will have to buy that DLC separately, from the Nintendo eShop.
