Daily Briefs (Aug. 16): Famimaga / Metroid: Samus Returns

Today’s Daily Briefs: Nintendo Dream’s second Famimaga supplement, but also…

  • Metroid: Samus Returns
  • Kirby’s Blowout Blast
  • Sonic Mania
  • NBA 2K18

Famimaga

Last year, to celebrate the release of the Nintendo Classic Mini: Family Computer, Nintendo Dream included a Famimaga supplement to their November issue. And it looks like the magazine is doing it again, this time for the release of the Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Famicom.

Today, it was announced that the October issue of Nintendo Dream (releasing on Monday in Japan) would include a 100 page Famimaga supplement, this time focusing on the Super Mario series. There will also be a rare interview of Shigeru Miyamoto, about Super Mario World.

Heres’ the cover of that supplement:

The Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainement System / Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition will be released on September 29th in Europe and North America.
The Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Famicom will be released on October 5th in Japan.

Metroid: Samus Returns

Here’s a short video clip for Metroid: Samus Returns, showing Samus’ 360° aim and her laser sight (which gives her even more precision):

Metroid: Samus Returns (3DS) comes out on September 15th worldwide.

Kirby’s Blowout Blast

Today, the official Twitter account for the Kirby 25th Anniversary shared the latest video for Kirby’s Blowout Blast (Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo eShop). It shows “Manpuku Kirby” (lit. “Full Kirby”), which is the “form” Kirby takes when he’s inhale a lot of enemies (or a large one) in the game). Pretty cute, isn’t it? One has to wonder how he’s able to walk like that… let alone jump!

Sonic Mania

Here’s some more screenshots for Sonic Mania, now available worldwide:

Speaking of Sonic, here’s the latest video of the Domino King, celebrating the release of Sonic Mania:
