8Bit Music Power Book

8Bit Music Power Book is a magazine & CD combo featuring exclusive interviews with Japanese composers and video game veterans. It was originally published in Japanese, but it looks like it’s getting an official English translation. Inside, you will also find plenty of pixel art done by Hiroshi Ono.

The magazine comes with a CD featuring 13 songs composed by “school enthusiasts” and famous composers, including Yuriko Keino (Super Xevious), Omodaka, and more.

If you’re interested, the magazine is available for pre-order on Play-Asia [NB: affiliate link], and should be released sometime in February. It will cost $23.99 / 22.65€.

Yasuhiro Wada (Harvest Moon)

If you’re a fan of the Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons series, Yasuhiro Wada is a name you should be familiar with: he’s the very one who created it in the first place! He’s worked on quite a lot of farming games, and it looks like’s done with them for good. Here’s what he answered when asked whether he wanted to work on another one, in an interview with GameStop:

Not. At. All. [Laughs]

I see Harvest Moon more as my child now; it’s all grown up. It’s married, it started a family, and it’s doing its own thing now. I’m curious as to how it’s going to do from here on out, but I don’t feel the need to get involved with the series anymore.
