Dai Gyakuten Saiban getting budget re-release in December, preview pages of updated AA artbook

Dai Gyakuten Saiban: Naruhodou Ryuunosuke no Bouken

Dai Gyakuten Saiban: Naruhodou Ryuunosuke was released on July 5th 2015 in Japan, and was the first Ace Attorney game Shu Takumi (creator of the series) was directly involved with since Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney (not to mention the Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney spin-off).

While chances of a western release range from extremely slim to non-existent (despite unfortunate choices of music tracks for giveaway videos), this new and separate Ace Attorney series is actually getting a sequel (announced at Tokyo Game Show 2016, last month). And in December, the original entry is getting a budget re-release.

Dai Gyakuten Saiban: Naruhodou Ryuunosuke – Best Price! will be released on December 8th, and will cost 3 219 Yen (instead of 6 264 Yen until now). This budget re-release hasn’t been officially announced just yet, but several retailers have already started listing the game, so it’s most likely a matter of day until we get a proper announcement.

Naturally, our Upcoming Releases page has already been updated!

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

During the Ace Attorney 15th Anniversary stage show at the Tokyo Game Show 2016, Capcom announced Gyakuten Saiban Illustration Archives. It’s an updated version of the original Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney artbook (which was released in English, courtesy of Udon), which features artworks of the latest Ace Attorney games:

  • Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (GameBoy Advance)
  • Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (Nintendo DS)
  • Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Justice for All (Nintendo DS)
  • Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Trial and Tribulations (Nintendo DS)
  • Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney (Nintendo DS)
  • Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy (WiiWare) [New]
  • Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies (Nintendo 3DS) [New]
  • Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy (Nintendo 3DS) [New]

Here’s the final version of the cover (without the silly typo this time!) and some preview pages:

The Gyakuten Saiban Illustration Archives book will be released on Wednesday in Japan. It’s currently unknown whether Udon intends to release it in English or not.
