Attack on Titan: Shichi Kara no Dasshutsu gets a trailer, screens, a Limited Edition, and a release date

A few weeks ago, a new Attack on Titan game was announced for the Nintendo 3DS, called Attack on Titan: Shichi Kara no Dasshutsu. Unlike the previous one, it’s not an action game, but instead a text-based adventure game developed by Ruby Party (known for their Neoromance title). It was initially announced for 2017, without a precise date, but today, such a date was finally revealed… by Nintendo.

It’s on March 30th 2017 that Attack on Titan: Shichi Kara no Dasshutsu will be released in Japan. That means it will be out merely a few days before the second season of the Attack on Titan anime starts (in early April, provided there’s no additional delays!). Wondering what the game will look like? You can get an idea thanks to the teaser trailer below (the first proper trailer will be revealed on November 30th).

Here it is:

Nintendo mentions that the team behind the anime series (WIT Studio) is creating the backgrounds used in the game, and the voice actors reprise their role (you can find the full list in this post).

It was also announced that players buying the game at launch will get an exclusive Nintendo 3DS featuring Eren’s voice. Unfortunately, we don’t know what the theme looks like, just that you will have to buy the game at launch to get it (until April 12th for the digital version). There’s also the usual retailer bonuses, but we don’t have pics for any of them just yet.

Also, just like pretty much all games published by Koei-Tecmo, Attack on Titan: Shichi Kara no Dasshutsu will get a Limited Edition called Treasure Box (which costs 12 800 Yen + taxes). It includes the following:

  • the game itself
  • a Visual Book
  • a Soundtrack CD
  • two posters
  • 6 badges
  • a download code for a Nintendo 3DS Theme featuring Levi and Mikasa
  • a download code for a Nintendo 3DS Theme featuring Elwin (if you pre-order before January 22nd)

Finally, here’s some illustrations and screenshots (+ the boxart) for the game:
