Attack on Titan 2 (3DS): details and trailer for the Danganronpa collaboration, characters, more

Attack on Titan 2 ~Mirai no Zahyou~ is being developed by Spike-Chunsoft, the same company known for the Danganronpa series. Therefore, it’s not unexpected that the game would have a collaboration with that series, especially since other Spike-Chunsoft games got one (such as Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars).

In Attack on Titan 2 ~Mirai no Zahyou~ specifically, there will be several extra missions, where players have to take down Monokuma titans. They appear in various sizes (from 3m to 60m class), and just like in the original series, Monokuma is voiced by TARAKO. If you clear all the special missions, you can get a Monokuma outfit for your custom character.

Here’s a trailer for that collaboration:

Attack on Titan 2 ~Mirai no Zahyou~ features no less than 40 characters, including some that appear in the second season of the anime series, but also the No Regrets side-story. In World Mode, you will be able to use “parts” of those characters for your own custom character, including the voices (NB: you need save data of the first game to unlock the content related to the No Regrets side-story).

Here’s some of the new characters appearing in this game:

  • Nile Dawk
  • Nanaba
  • Nifa
  • Keith Sadies
  • Isabel Magnolia
  • Furlan Church

Finally, Spike-Chunsoft detail two types of special missions from World Mode:

  • Emergency Base Missions: those happen when you clear the last regular mission of a chapter. They task you with defending your base from Titans. When you clear them, you get blueprints for new buildings;
  • Birthday Missions: those are only available on the birthday of your original character. Clearing them allows you to get special rewards, such as special voiced lines. There’s over 20 of them in total.

Finally, here’s the latest batch of screenshots for the game:

Attack on Titan 2 ~Mirai no Zahyou~ (3DS) comes out on November 30th in Japan.
