The Alliance Alive: first, long look at the game

Remember The Legend of Legacy, a JRPG by FuRyu that was greatly inspired (understatement!) by the SaGa series? Well, the core team behind that game is back with another JRPG on Nintendo 3DS, called The Alliance Alive, which will be released on March 30th in Japan.

A first trailer was revealed back in October, and previewed the various elements of the game: the story and its cutscenes, explorations, and even battles. But for those of you who want to see more of this rather promising JRPG (which does look a lot like the Bravely series from Square-Enix), we finally have the very first gameplay footage for the game!

Yesterday, Masataka Matsuura (Producer and Director) was a guest at the weekly Famitsu livestream on NicoNico, and gave us our very first look at the game being played on Nintendo 3DS. And he didn’t play just for a couple of minutes: he did so for almost a full hour, giving us a nice, long look at the game.

It starts showing what seems to be the very beginning of the game, with some cutscenes and a town. After that, he heads outside, giving us a look at the overworld, complete with some battles. And then, he heads into what seems to be a dungeon, which does feature some (seemingly simple) puzzles. Unfortunately, he only plays with the two main characters: Garyl and Ursula.

Here’s our recording of the gameplay segment:
