Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice DLC confirmed for the West, anime series Blu-Ray Box Vol. 2

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice is only a couple of weeks away in Europe and North America, and the demo version will be released tomorrow in both regions. And today, the page for the game was opened on the Nintendo eShop of the Nintendo 3DS, in North America. Unfortunately, the game is not available for pre-purchase (yet?).

But one of the screenshots on the page shows the main menu, with an “Extras and DLC” option. This confirms that the extra content will indeed be released in Europe and North America, though Capcom is yet to make an announcement. Since Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies did get the extra content (with the exception of the special quizz), this “reveal” was not unexpected.

In Japan, the game got the following DLC:

• some additional costumes for Phoenix Wright, Athena Cykes and Apollo Justice [available for free to all users who bought the game at launch]
• two additional, non-canon short-stories (complete with gameplay sequences) [available for free for all users buying the game at launch]
• an extra, full-case DLC called “Turnabout Across Time” [available for free for a few weeks following its launch]

The wording in the menu “Extras and DLC” implies that the costumes and the extra case will be released in Europe and North America, but it’s not clear when, if it will be free at launch, and how much it will cost. Since the demo version comes out tomorrow, it’s quite likely Capcom will make an announcement then.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice (3DS eShop) comes out on September 8th in Europe and North America. The demo version will be released tomorrow (August 25th).

Gyakuten Saiban: Sono “Shinjitsu”, Igiari! (anime series)

Today, Aniplex announced that the second box set for Gyakuten Saiban: Sono “Shinjitsu”, Igiari! (the Ace Attorney anime series) would be released on December 21st. It will the second court (11 episodes), a special case, a special jacket, a booklet, the creditless version of the second Opening and Ending songs, a second soundtrack CD, and more.

Since the first cour had 13 episodes, that means the series will have 24 episodes in total. The 21st episode will air this Saturday (on August 27th), which means there’s only 4 episodes left. The last episode should air on September 17th. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like there will be an extra episode as OVA (generally included in the Blu-Ray/DVD releases), and no second season has been announced (yet).
